She's jewelry writer Debbie Yonick, who after years of interviewing the most important movers and shakers in the jewelry business decided to share her wealth of knowledge and kitsch with consumers of this time-honored symbol of love, family, friends, self, and milestone moments.
An official jewelry lover since she received a gold cross pendant from her parents for her first communion–which she still wears–Debbie's love of jewelry and writing came together in 1991 when she assumed the throne of editor-in-chief for the magazine Colored Stone. Her first issue was the Tucson Gem Show Guide, which baptized her into the gem and jewelry culture. From there, she was gem editor for National Jeweler until she flew solo in 1996.
Since then, she has been a contributing editor for AJM and correspondent for Rapaport Diamond Report and The Basel Magazine. She also pens for such publications as Canadian Jeweller, Australian Jeweller, Professional Jeweler, and Jewelry Watch Atlanta. And, she is a PR/Marketing consultant for companies in the jewelry trade.
Debbie established The Jewelry Lady's home on the website of the Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council (JCOC), because it is the voice of the jewelry consumer. She hopes to hear from you. Maybe you'll be her next column.
